Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs your use of ShopMage AI and all related services provided by Neon Platypus. This AUP is incorporated into and forms part of our Terms of Service. Violation of this AUP may result in immediate suspension or termination of your account without notice or refund.

1. Prohibited Content

You may not use the Service to generate, process, store, or distribute content that:

• Is illegal under the laws of England and Wales or the jurisdiction in which you operate;
• Infringes any third party's intellectual property, trademark, or proprietary rights;
• Contains or promotes child sexual abuse material (CSAM) or exploitation of minors;
• Promotes violence, terrorism, self-harm, or hatred against protected groups;
• Is defamatory, harassing, threatening, or constitutes stalking;
• Contains malware, viruses, or other harmful code;
• Is fraudulent, deceptive, or misleading (including fake product listings, counterfeit goods, or bait-and-switch schemes);
• Violates any applicable export control or sanctions laws;
• Promotes illegal drugs, weapons, or controlled substances (beyond lawful e-commerce);
• Contains personal data of third parties without lawful basis.

2. Prohibited Activities

You may not:

• Abuse credits or billing: create multiple accounts to exploit free-tier allocations; share license keys between unrelated sites; manipulate the system to obtain credits, refunds, or services you are not entitled to;
• Circumvent controls: bypass rate limits, usage caps, authentication mechanisms, or access restrictions through any means;
• Reverse engineer: decompile, disassemble, reverse engineer, or attempt to derive the source code, algorithms, or models underlying the Service;
• Automated abuse: use bots, scripts, or automated tools to access the Service beyond normal plugin operation, or submit artificially high volumes of requests;
• Resell or redistribute: resell, sublicense, lease, or provide the Service to third parties as a managed service without our written consent;
• Competitive use: use the Service to build, train, or improve a competing product or service; benchmark the Service for competitive purposes;
• Infrastructure abuse: overload, disrupt, or interfere with the Service or its underlying infrastructure, including DDoS attacks, injection attacks, or resource exhaustion;
• Identity fraud: impersonate any person or entity, or falsely state or misrepresent your affiliation;
• Data harvesting: scrape, crawl, or extract data from the Service beyond your own account data;
• Spam generation: use AI outputs for unsolicited bulk communications or SEO manipulation that violates search engine guidelines.

3. Fair Use

All plans are subject to fair use limits. We monitor usage patterns and reserve the right to throttle, suspend, or terminate accounts that exhibit abnormal consumption patterns, even if technically within stated credit limits. Examples of potential fair-use violations include:

• Sustained 100% credit utilisation with automated submission patterns;
• Processing content for sites not associated with your account;
• Bulk operations that degrade service quality for other users.

4. Enforcement

We may investigate suspected violations and take any action we deem appropriate, including:

• Issuing a warning;
• Temporarily or permanently suspending your account;
• Removing or disabling content;
• Reducing, revoking, or zeroing your credit allocation;
• Terminating your account without refund;
• Reporting illegal activity to law enforcement;
• Pursuing legal remedies.

Enforcement decisions are made at our sole discretion. We are not obligated to provide notice before taking action, nor to explain or justify enforcement decisions. Repeated or severe violations result in permanent bans.

5. Reporting Violations

If you become aware of any violation of this AUP, please report it to security@neonplatypus.dev.

6. Changes

We may update this AUP at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-product notice.
